La Maille Hat – Free Pattern

To make a la maille hat you will need 140-176 yards sport (#2) weight yarn, crochet hook that matches with the yarn, scissors, measuring tape, tapestry needle. Starting chain does not count as first stitch unless stated otherwise within the pattern. Hat size will be slightly smaller than head circumference, but the hat is very stretchy and should be fitted around the head.

Pattern is worked from the bottom up. Pattern is worked in toddler size with child and adult sizes in parentheses. Final stitch count for all sizes will be in parentheses at the end of each round.
